I am working on completing my Senior Thesis Capstone. I am researching the question "What is the relationship between Medicaid expansion and health outcomes in rural areas?" I am extremely passionate about health care, especially about finding the disparities between rural and urban areas. My project is a year-long research project, and I am currently in the data-collection stage. I created the PowerPoint linked above to present to honors cohort community to provide an explanation of my project and the progress that has been made. Healthcare is incredibly important to the future success of any community and my goal for my project is to provide a voice to the rural communities and increase access and care in these areas. I am proud of how my research is going and I am projected to begin data analysis on my project within the next week. The data I have included was pulled from the UNC Cecil G. Sheps database and the CDC Wonder database.
