I interned with PepsiCo over the summer before my Senior year of college at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I was interning in the Sales department, and my entire summer was dedicated to working on my intern project, which was "How do we Achieve a 98% In-Stock rate for Pepsi's #1 Customer - Walmart?" I spent 7 weeks working on this project and I was thrilled with the results. I had a team of 10 sales representatives that I was working with, and I would travel every day of the week to Walmart to shadow and learn from them. I quickly learned that Pepsi needed a uniform inventory and ordering process to increase our in-stock rate. I developed a 45-minute training program that was given to every sales representative on my team. Within 3-weeks, my teams average in-stock rate went from 92% to 96%, which was an overall 4% increase. I was able to help PepsiCo save thousands of dollars, and I created the PowerPoint that is linked above. I presented my findings to the entire Tennessee PepsiCo district board and was able to secure a job with them post-graduation!
