I had the privilege of hosting the Vice President of Worldwide Economic Development at Amazon, Holly Sullivan, as she came to visit the University of Tennessee's premier cohort-based honors program, the Smith GLS Program. I served on the host team, and it was my job to do research on our Executive guest prior to her campus visit. My team and I created the PowerPoint that is linked above, containing information about her personal and professional journey. I am extremely passionate about conducting research and having the ability to dive into someone's professional career allows for our class to have deep, intentional conversations with our guests. I gathered information from press releases, news articles, and past interviews in order to make sure our team collected the most accurate information possible. My team and I also had the opportunity to take our guest to dinner the night before her presentation to get to know her on a personal level. Holly gave a wonderful presentation to our class and our research paid off for the class to ask insightful questions based on the data we collected. I loved getting to hear from Holly and I cannot wait to see what she does in the future at Amazon.
